On February 26–27, the 6th Jiangsu Provincial Reproductive Medicine Academic Conference was held at the foot of Purple Mountain in Nanjing, the ancient capital of six dynasties.

At this academic conference, the Reproductive Medicine Center of Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital reported for the first time the results of a prospective clinical study conducted in collaboration with Fertsy.
In this randomized controlled clinical trial conducted from 2021 to 2022, a total of 576 patients were enrolled, using single blastocyst transfer, and divided into a manual assessment group and an AI assessment group. The results showed that the clinical pregnancy rate for manually selected embryos was 69.03%; while the clinical pregnancy rate using Fertsy’s intelligent embryo assessment system was 81.04%, representing a significant improvement over the manual group. The results of this prospective study indicate that Fertsy’s AI embryo assessment system has surpassed existing manual assessment methods in terms of consistency and accuracy, and the product is ready for commercial deployment. It is expected to help fertility centers further improve the success rate of assisted reproduction treatment in the future, bringing hope to more patients.

The detailed results of this experiment (including neonatal data such as live birth rates) will be presented and analyzed in detail in a subsequent publication.
At this conference, many other leading experts also reported on the latest advances in the application of artificial intelligence technology in assisted reproduction, both domestically and internationally. We believe that with the joint efforts of colleagues, as these technologies continue to be integrated and developed in the field of assisted reproduction, IVF laboratories will gradually become intelligent and automated, thereby greatly improving various indicators and success rates of the IVF process, and contributing to the treatment of infertility and global population issues.
